A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

I have been building houses for 25 years - custom homes, restorations, historical, we even built a museum and the church - a massive beautiful church! I just started two businesses since my dad’s retiring. That’s who I worked for, the family business. Currently, I have a DBA as ArtistDione, and Dione’s Interiors. I do interior painting, drywall, custom showers, tile floors and backsplash.

2. Why do you make art?

I make art because I love to! I love to sit and think of what I could possibly create with the materials and the resources I have available. I love to stretch my mind into an infinite space of wonder and possibility, and grab new ideas there, and then execute them.

3. What inspires you?

I’m inspired by the way the wind blows through the trees, the water moves through the creek and around the rocks. I’m inspired by the movement of nature. I’m inspired by objects, chunks of wood & other things I find.

4. What/who are your influences?

My current artists & 😍 fanning inspirations are my new friends out of Detroit, Ellen Stone, Amanda, Koss, and Colibri The Artist! Very strong women in the arts. I admire the talent and dedication!!

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

Albert Einstein or Neil Armstrong. No, definitely Leonardo da Vinci or the Wright brothers. That’s pretty masculine… I’d have to say Mother Teresa or Georgia O’Keeffe.
